AMARAPURA
It’s located 11 Km. from Mandalay. It was Royal capital for first time in 1783 during the kingdom of Bodawpaya.
Mahagandhayon Monastery- It was founded in 1914. At 10:30 every morning hundreds of monks wait for their Swan (meals) about 10.15 am. It’s located west of U Pein Bridge.
 

U Pein Bridge- It was built between over the lake Taungthaman in 1849 and 1851 by King Bagan. It is the longest teak bridge in the world (1.2 kilometers).  Many tourist go here to see the sunset.

Pahtodawgi Pagoda- It’s located 2Km.north of U Pein Bridge and by the lake Taungthaman. It was built by king Bagydaw in 1820.
 

Kyauktawgyi Pagoda (Pagoda of the Great Marble Image)- Crossing the bridge to Taungthaman village on the other side of the lake will bring you to Kyauktawgyi Pagoda. Also built by King Bagan, in 1847. We’ll find a large figure of the Buddha in marble, as well as statues of his 88 pupils.
