By train
From Mandalay departs at 4am and arrives at Hsipaw at 2.55pm. (Upper class 11$, 9$ first class and 3$ for an ordinary seat).
From Pyin Oo Lwin departs at 7.52am and arrives at 2.55pm. (Upper class 6$, first class 5$ and 3$ for an ordinary seat).
From Lashio departs at 5am and arrives at 9.25am.

Accommodation
Nam Khae Mao Guest House- Rooms with shared bathroom 6$, private bath 7-10$.; private bath (single US$15, double US$25-30). Probably the friendliest staff in the whole town. Very helpful and speak a very good english.Lately they also started to organize some tours and travelers who tried, are very happy with the experience and with the guides. Mr. Kid’s Guest House (The Golden Doll Guest House)- Rooms start at 5,000 Ks. or 10$. No breakfast included. There is not hot water. 124, Mandalay-Lashio Road, West Block. 80066
 

Mr. Charles guest house- From 7$. He organizes most of the trekkings and tours in the village. Also organizes half day boat trips and hikes to Shan Villages Some travelers complained that the staff is unfriendly and unhelpful but I think Mr. Charles will be very kind if you get one of his tours/trekkings. Address: 141, Awbar St, Myo Lae Qr.
Evergreen hotel- 30$ double room. Includes, attached bathroom with hot water, TV with dvd (no cable) and breakfast included. They got the license on 2012. They speak some english, but some of them, don’t. They didn’ t have much information about Hsipaw or what to do when I was there at the end of 2012. Some of them are kind but it’s not my first option. Address: Theinni Street, Taung Myo Ward.
 

Eat
Black house coffee shop- 4-5.000 kyats. It’ s located in a house by the river and a good place to sit in the terrace facing the river and drinking some coffee, beer or any refreshment.
 

Mr.Food (Law Chun restaurant)- 4-5.000 kyats. Chinese food. Located in the main Street (near Sony Video Hall) Minepon Street. 80339
 

Moor-Shan- 3.000-4.000 kyats. Restaurant that cooks delicious home-made Shan food. Minepon Street (By Mr. Food)
 

Yin Kyan- 3.000-4.000 kyats. Chinese restaurant for locals.
 

Mr. Tea (Myo Aung)- It’ s a good place to have breakfast. Home-made bread, samosas, nan, roti,…
